Mamy questions have been asked about the reasons as to why Dr Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election. Well, many theories have been propelled but none must have fitted in the actual reason as why he was defeated.

There are many answers to many questions. In fact, it will be so surprising to many of us who are political analyses that jonathan have not envisaged his defeat. There are many factors that contributed to his defeat and we will be doing justice some of them.

One of the major issues i could see was the fact that Jonathan was actually not in power though he was. IUn fact he was just a mere figure head. How can you explain a situation where the wife of the president would be calliong the shots whereas the office of the wife of the president was not a constitutionalise one.
at one time, it was tpold that Dame patieance Jonathan snatched the microphone from the hands of former governor of Rivers state Amaechi Rotimi during a town hall meeting in cross river state.

During the kidnapped of the chibok girls, Mrs patience was said to have summoned the military heads in Boeno, the commissioner of polioce, local government chairman of chibok local government council and a few others to a meeeting. One would be wondering on what constituional ground does she have the right to do so? That was the exclusive right of Mr president. She was just all over the place causing havoc for her husband’s preseidential ambition.

Apart from this aforementioned matter, it should be noted that President Jonathan actually was not a man to be trusted with his words. fter the death of his former boss, he assumed office as the constitution of the country demanded but on a some precondition. The constittution of PDP actually have zoned the president to the North for 8 years of two tenures and during the 2011 presidential election, it was said that at Adisa baba, He (Jonathan) had agreed to a gentlemans agreement to run for just one tenure so that the North would countinue their mandate of two tenures which met a fatal end with the death of president Yaradua.

As a respected leader, one should expect that he would have respected the zoning of the party after all, no one was bigger than the party. But rather he went on to via for the position. This prompted a revolt from the PDP governors especially those from the Northern region where it led to 5 of them leaving the party for the opossion partty headed by Buhari and co. As at this point, he was now fighting against those whom he had promised he won’t fight against. There was no way he was gonna win not when those who risked their reputation to ensure he won have left him.

He lost many allies some where his faults some others where not but they where all issues that could be handled by him. For example, the former PDP chairman by the chief Nwobodo who was instrumental in Ebele Jonathan clinching the nominmation ticket for the presidential election of 2011, became a political enemy to his excellency. In fact, almost 70n percent of those who have ensured that the North where persuaded to pipe low for him to be the next left him for the opposition party because he jonathan could not be in charge.

Another factor that i think was a major factor was the fact that there was a revolt from bigwigs. For example former presidient olusegun who publicly tored his PDP card and denounce being her member of the party was a big lose. In fact he told Jonathan that he was not gonna support him during the 2015 presidential election.

Another major issue was the way the fight against Boko haram was handled. In fact many nigerians felt the who boko haram and chibok girls kidnap was a stage drama. Well, whatever the case may be, if these issues and others where curtailed well, it would have been a different story line line now.\
